Left Come For Tucker Carlson And Even Kat Timpf (!!) Where Is Conservatism Inc?

Tucker had it coming. That seems to be the consensus among mainstream journalists after Tucker Carlson’s wife and family were threatened by an Antifa mob. Among those sympathizing with Antifa:

  • Matthew Yglesias [Email him] of VOX.com, who scolded readers who “empathize with the fear of the Carlson family rather than with the fear of his victims” that “you should take a moment to reflect on why that is.”

  • Adam Peck [email him] of Think Progress sneered that it’s a “real shame racists can’t spread their bile in peace anymore.”
  • Brooke Binkowski of Truth or Fiction and Julie Gerstein of Insider, both of whom mocked CNN’s Brian Stelter for condemning Antifa. [Antifa Targets Tucker Carlson, by Ashley Rae Goldenberg, Capital Research Center, November 8, 2018]

Nor is Tucker Carlson’s ordeal over. He is now facing possible criminal charges after one Juan Manuel Granados allegedly insulted his daughter and a confrontation ensued. Granados is another of those immigrants to this country, like Jose Antonio Vargas, who makes his living complaining about racism and discrimination. [Video shows Tucker Carlson cursing during a bar scuffle. He says he was defending his daughter, by Avi Selk, Washington Post, November 11, 2018] Granados is being defended by none other than lawyer Michael Avenatti, who spread rumors about Brett Kavanaugh that were so outrageous that Democrats even blame him for Kavanaugh’s ultimate confirmation to the Supreme Court. [Some Democrats are blaming Michael Avenatti for muddying the waters on sexual misconduct allegations against Brett Kavanaugh, by Kevin Breuninger, CNBC, October 8, 2018]

Unless you were there, no one can say with certainty what happened. However, given Avenatti’s record and Granados’s history of grievance-mongering, I believe Tucker Carlson is telling the truth. The Antifa ethos of completely destroying opponents by any means necessary has taken over the American Left, and this includes having a complete indifference to facts. Even when caught on video, the hard Left will deny having committed violent acts or saying certain things, and they are so zealous and deluded they may even believe what they are saying.

And of course, the Righteous Right will attack anyone who suggests fighting back. [Weekly Standard DaintyCon Rushes to Protect Guy Who Called Tucker Carlson's Daughter a "Whore", November 12, 2018]

Similarly, and perhaps even more significantly, Kat Timpf, a Fox News personality and contributor to National Review, was allegedly run out of an establishment by a Leftist mob over the weekend. [Fox News’s Kat Timpf: I was ‘chewed out, abused’ at establishment over where I work, by Joe Concha, The Hill, November 12, 2018]

Significantly, while Kat Timpf deserves support, she still has a job, is unlikely to have her website domain stolen, and likely has no problem getting a bank account. She’s not dealing with very much at all compared to what the Dissident Right puts up with.

But what did Timpf think was going to happen? She has built a career around poking mild fun at Political Correctness. [Give to NR so Kat can mock the Left’s lunacy, by Katherine Timpf, National Review, October 10, 2018] However, she saves her real venom for anyone who wants to actually combat the Left or analyze it in more depth than just calling it “crazy.”

Timpf, like almost every other Conservatism Inc. talking head, was furious at President Trump for Noticing the Leftists’ role in organizing violence at the ill-fated “Unite The Right” demonstration in Charlottesville in 2017 and for not automatically labeling patriot protesters “Nazis”. She duly received a pat on the head from the MSM for echoing the Main Stream Media Narrative. [Fox News Host Kat Timpf Absolutely Goes Off on “Disgusting” Trump Presser, by Andrew Kirll, Daily Beast, August 15, 2017]

Now, Timpf wants sympathy and the freedom to be allowed to keep insulting “snowflakes.” But why should Leftists care what she thinks? After all, progressives might ask, why is mocking the “emotional distress” of students something that should be rewarded? [Public university could expel students for causing others ‘emotional distress,’ by Katherine Timpf, National Review, November 8, 2018] And why are her feelings sacred but those of her targets not?

Remember, National Review was happy enough to fire John Derbyshire when enough Leftists complained.

Conservatism Inc. conceded the premises of the Left a long time ago. But it still somehow thinks it will be able to make a separate peace with Cultural Marxist Totalitarianism.

For example, Kevin Williamson condemned the attack on Tucker Carlson’s home and notes, quite rightly, that the Left’s defenses of violence against supposed “Nazism” are simply wrong:

Calling yourself an “Antifascist” while defining “fascism” as “the enforcement of ordinary immigration laws” or “thinking that Bernie Sanders is a grumpy muppet who should be kept far from the levers of power” is entirely childish and deeply stupid.

[The Lonely Mob, by Kevin Williamson, National Review, November 11, 2018]

Yet this is dangerous ground, because it implicitly suggests that violence would indeed be defensible if you could somehow show that these targets are Nazis.

The Leftist theory of the “fascist creep” allows progressives to constantly identify new institutions, arguments, or individuals that it can claim will lead to fascism. [Exposing and defeating the fascist creep, by Javier Sethness, Truthout, April 7, 2017] The Left has every incentive to get to label more and more people either fascists or “gateways” to fascism, thus enabling censorship, deplatforming, or violence against more and more targets.

Indeed, Kevin Williamson himself is now back writing at National Review precisely because he was defenestrated from The Atlantic the same way National Review has purged its own writers over the years.

Denying you are “fascist” or “racist” doesn’t make much of a difference in how you are treated. For example, Editor Peter Brimelow’s patient clarifications that VDARE.com is not a “white nationalist site” don’t seem to make a difference to anyone in the MSM, nor, for that matter, to anyone in the Beltway Right.

Indeed, what are National Review and the Weekly Standard doing right now? They are trying to purge Congressman Steve King for too energetically opposing mass immigration and for supporting heroic activist Faith Goldy in her run for mayor of Toronto:

Conservatism Inc. also cheered on the prosecution of Gavin McInnnes’ Proud Boys for the crime of defending themselves against Antifa.

But the rise of overt anti-white sentiment within the Democratic Party, and the electoral triumph of socialism through the weapon of mass immigration, is of no concern to Conservatism Inc. Instead, its hacks are still focused on tone-policing the American Right, even though these hacks will ultimately be consumed themselves.

If the Left takes down Tucker Carlson and is even targeting the likes of Kat Timpf, why shouldn’t Cultural Marxists go after the likes of s David French, or Ben Shapiro, despite all their triangulating?

As the Founding Fathers knew, your rights are only what you can defend. Whatever the First Amendment says, Americans now no longer really possess the right of free speech. Patriots are at risk of physical attack for speaking their mind while Antifa enjoy immunity even under a supposedly conservative administration.

Conservatism Inc. faces a choice. Will it defend free speech and freedom of assembly for all—even if it means making common cause with much-abused pioneers like VDARE.com? Or will it keep hoping the Antifa crocodile will eat them last?

Only a fool believes this will stop with Tucker Carlson or even Kat Timpf.

The real battle for “freedom” isn’t being fought in the Middle East, it’s being fought right here at home—and right now, Americans patriots are losing.
