If stopping “gun crime” or “gun violence” is the Gordian Knot of contemporary criminal justice matters, then Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters might be Alexander the Great. With three words, he sliced through the problem by equating gun crime in America with “black people, frankly” [Blake Masters Blames Gun Violence on ‘Black People, Frankly’, By Roger Sollenberger, Daily Beast, June 6, 2022]. You read that correctly. Masters had the courage to say what needs to be said: Blacks with guns, not guns themselves, cause almost all the mayhem and murder in “urban” America. This VDARE.com survey of every major city proves Masters right.

Masters uttered the unutterable in an interview with podcaster Jeff Oravits on April 11.

“We do have a gun violence problem in this country, and it’s gang violence,” Masters said:

“It’s people in Chicago, St. Louis shooting each other. Very often, you know, Black people, frankly. … And the Democrats don’t want to do anything about that.”

The commissars in the Main Stream Media quickly quickly published point-and-splutter headlines:

The implication, of course, is that Masters is wrong; i.e., that blacks behaving badly with guns is not the main crime problem in America’s most dangerous cities, and that Masters, as Rolling Stone proclaimed, “has leaned on both guns and racism throughout his bid for Congress.”

For the record, Masters is running for the Senate, not "Congress". But what do you expect from the magazine that manufactured the U.Va. Rape Hoax?

But let’s look at the facts in six major cities:

St. Louis

In this once-great American metropolis, "black people, frankly,” are indeed the problem. In 2017, “nearly all homicide suspectswere Black and 98% were male,” the Giffords Law Center (an anti-gun outfit founded by former congresswoman Gabby Giffords) reported, citing data from the federal Justice Department:

[N]early 90% of homicides were committed with a gun in a public place. The vast majority of both perpetrators and victims of gun violence in the city are young Black men, with nearly 93% of suspects being male and Black, while nearly 78% of victims were Black and nearly 65% male.

Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Star blamed “street groups” for black crime in its headline over a report in 2021 [‘Street groups’ involved in 39% homicides in Indianapolis, new analysis finds, by Elizabeth DePompei, August 5, 2021].

An analysis of nearly 300 homicides between March 2018 and February 2020 showed the following,“[A]round 77% of victims and suspects in homicides and shootings were Black, despite Black residents accounting for only 29% of the city's population. Nearly 85% of victims and suspects were male.”

The Star’s DePompei added this amusing note: “Shootings most often occurred as a result of ‘personal disputes between known individuals.’”

That’s the long way to say blacks explode in rage and start shooting when they get “dissed.”

Memphis

A story published by the drolly namedMLK50.com was frank about the data on blacks, guns, and crime,

A story published by the MLK50.com was frank about the data on blacks, guns, and crime, which of course is a “public health” problem, not a black problem.

Across the country, Black people are disproportionately homicide victims. Homicide is the seventh leading cause of death in Shelby County and the homicide rate, adjusted for population, is 57.3% for Black people and 6% for white people.

In Shelby County, homicide is the leading cause of death for Black males ages 15-24, according to 2020 CDC data. …

But of course MLK50 wants you to know that it’s a “public health” problem, not a black problem:

[Public health Professor Courtney] Melton added that because Memphis’ predominantly Black and low-income neighborhoods disproportionately suffer from homicides, the issue is “racialized,” inviting racist and classist stereotypes into the discussion and leaving little room to understand other factors.

“It’s just seen as a Black problem,” Melton said, which comes with misconceptions like, “we need tough crime policies. They’re acting this way, because they don’t value education. They (have) fatherless homes and we need to prosecute the parents. Everything about it is ‘lock them up, lock them up, punish them, punish them, punish them.’ And you don’t see that attitude if you’re talking about people dying by suicide or other things.”

Well, the shootings are a “black problem!”

New York City

In 2020, the Big Apple’s homicide suspects were 92.4 percent black and Hispanic

Murder and Non-Negligent Manslaughter victims are most frequently Black (67.0%) or Hispanic (23.7%). White victims account for (5.9%). …

The race/ethnicity of known Murder and Non-Negligent Manslaughter suspects mirrors the victim population with Black (63.9%) and Hispanic (28.5%) suspects accounting for the majority of suspects. White suspects account for (4.8%). ....

[The] arrest population is similarly distributed. Black arrestees (61.7%) and Hispanic arrestees (30.9%) account for the majority. …

97.8 percent of shooting suspects arrested in 2021 New York City were non-white.

Chicago

Historical data show that the more things change, the more they stay the same. In 2013, WorldNetDaily explained how bad the “gun violence” was in the City of Big Shoulders. The “death toll” during the previous decade exceeded the number of American soldiers, airmen, Marines, and other personnel killed in Afghanistan since the war’s beginning:

A WND review of the Chicago Police Department Murder Analysis reports from 2003 to 2011 provides a statistical breakdown of the demographics of both the victims and offenders in the 4,265 murders in Chicago over that time period.

Of the victims of murder in Chicago from 2003 to 2011, an average of 77 percent had a prior arrest history, with a high of 79 percent of the 436 murdered in Chicago in 2010 having arrest histories.

For the same 2003-2011 period, blacks were the victims of 75 percent of 4,265 murders. Blacks also were the offenders in 75 percent of the murders.

According to 2010 U.S. Census information, Chicago has a population of 2,695,598 people. The city is 33 percent black, 32 percent white (not Hispanic), and 30 percent Hispanic or Latino in origin.

For the 2003-2011 period, whites were nearly 6 percent of the victims and accused of carrying out 4 percent of the murders.

For the 2003-2011 period, Hispanics or Latinos were 19 percent of the victims and 20 percent of the offenders.

Between 2003 and 2011, 4,265 people were murdered in the city of Chicago. In 2012 alone, 512 people were murdered in the city.

[Chicago murders top Afghanistan death toll: City where no handgun purchases allowed sets pace for violence, WND.com, January 16, 2013]

Since then, nothing has changed, as weekend reports in the Leftist MSM show [Chicago shootings: 61 shot, 10 fatally in holiday weekend violence, police say, ABC7, June 21, 2022].

Washington D.C.

The nation’s capital is another dangerous place thanks to “black people, frankly.”

“Most gun violence is tightly concentrated on a small number of very high-risk young Black male adults that share a common set of risk factors,” the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform reported last year [Gun Violence Problem Analysis Summary Report, December 2021].

The report said shootings are often the result, again, of being “dissed”: “[S]hootings are precipitated by a petty conflict over a young woman, a simple argument, or the now-ubiquitous social media slight.”

And aside from showing that just 500 criminals committed 60-70 percent of the gun crimes between January 2019 and December 2020, the report offered these data:

Nearly 92 percent of victims and suspects in homicides and 88 percent of victims and suspects in nonfatal shootings were male. About 96 percent of victims and suspects in both homicides and nonfatal shootings were Black.

New Orleans

Data published by the Crescent City in 2016 not only reinforced what Masters said but also showed the Leftist MSMwillfully ignoring the truth [Murders and Shootings 2016 Trend Report].

In 2015 and 2016, blacks committed 95 percent of cleared homicides and 98 percent of cleared nonfatal shootings.

Yet none of the following MSM megaphones published those data:

  • The Times Picayune-New Orleans Advocate
  • WWL-CBS
  • WDSU-NBC
  • WVUE-Fox
  • WGNO-ABC

Why not? You know why. The data showed that “black people, frankly,” are the main crime problem in New Orleans.

The upshot of all this: Masters has nothing for which to apologize. He told the truth.

Democrats won’t do that. They want us to believe black crime and dysfunction is whitey’s fault. And even otherwise sensible conservative Republicans fear addressing the issue because they will certainly be accused of “racism.” As Masters was.

That he had the courage to say it out loud, in an interview he surely knew would go viral, might just be a sign that self-censorship among Republicans—particularly younger ones fed up with the leftist reign of cyber terror—is ending.

Why not Black People, Frankly—and the gun crimes they commit?

Top GOP candidates are, after all, openly discussing The Great Replacement.
