A Happy Martyrs of Memphis/ Nativity of Mary/ Day! (And Rosh Hashanah)

In my Anglican church (which I chose to mention despite its many failings, sigh) September 9 is the Feast of the Martyrs of Memphis (nuns who died nursing victims of the 1878 yellow fever outbreak—interestingly, one of the diseases that mass immigration may reintroduce to the U.S.) It's also, as per triumphalist references in the MSM , Rosh Hashanah, but as I pointed out at Passover, the Hanukkah rule demands that other religions can claim equal billing by scrounging up whatever minor festivals fall on or about the same time. Not even really minor in the case of my wife's Catholic Church: September 8, in the evening of which Rosh Hashanah celebrations started, is the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

VDARE.COM wishes all our readers a Happy. We mean it.
