Yesterday I noted that the NYT
had referred to Muslim mass murderer Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel
. as "a Frenchman of Tunisian origin." I objected to the word "Frenchman" in this connection as I have since before 9/11
when the Guardian
was talking about Gang rape on rise among French youth
[By Jon Henley, May 3, 2001] They weren't French youths, they were Africans. (Some of their victims were French—i. e. white.) Well, the latest "Frenchman" turns out to be an immigrant from Tunisia.
