Protesters also surrounded police cars, also banging those vehiclesTom Llamas had a number of tweets from the scene:
Attendees of the rally heading back to their cars were egged, followed and intimidated by some of the anti-Trump protesters. At one point, a large group of protesters surrounded a Trump supporter, throwing bottles and spitting at him as he walked back to his vehicle.

A responder to that tweet named Kim justified it with
hey look. Trump creates violent atmosphere and people react. Words matter folks. 100% Trumps fault.— Kim (@KimAvosim) June 3, 2016
The mayor of San Jose blamed Trump. That was even noticed at the Weekly Standard:
The mayor of San Jose, Democrat Sam Liccardo [Email him ]reacted angrily to the events. Not that he was particularly upset at the violent mob that attacked innocent Americans, of course. No, his ire was directed at Mr. Trump. "At some point Donald Trump needs to take responsibility for the irresponsible behavior of his campaign," the mayor said. Apparently it was downright "irresponsible" of Trump to even set foot in California's third largest city.Oh, and there’s this detail from CNN: “Protesters waved Mexican flags and one could be seen burning an American flag…”

These sorts of things need to be clearly shown to American voters. It shows what’s at stake here.
