Earlier today Peter Brimelow was not especially pleased to receive
From: Lauren Kirchner [mailto:Lauren.Kirchner@propublica.org] Sent: Friday, August 18, 2017 1:04 PM To: Lydia Brimelow <email@example.com>; Peter Brimelow <firstname.lastname@example.org> Subject: questions from a reporter
I am a reporter at ProPublica, a nonprofit investigative newsroom in New York. I am contacting you to let you know that we are including your website in a list of sites that have been designated as hate or extremist by the American Defamation League or the Southern Poverty Law Center. We have identified all the tech platforms that are supporting websites on the ADL and SPLC lists.
We would like to ask you a few questions:
1) Do you disagree with the designation of your website as hate or extremist? Why?
2) We identified a few tech companies on your website, including Moatads, and Visible.tv. Can you confirm that you receive funds from your relationship with those tech companies? How would the loss of those funds affect your operations, and how would you be able to replace them?
3) We see the "emergency message" on your website regarding the recent shutdown by PayPal. Have you been shut down by other tech companies for being an alleged hate or extremist web site? Which companies?
4) Many people opposed to sites like yours are currently pressuring tech companies to cease their relationships with them - what is your view of this campaign? Why?
Our deadline is 5pm EST today.
What a surprise that the Sanders’ ill-gotten gains are funding the Totalitarian Left.
Sorry, Sandlers https://archive.org/details/PulledSnlBankBailoutSkit Can’t afford fact checkers
ProPublica was the brainchild of billionaires and major Democratic donors Herbert and Marion Sandler, the former chief executives of the Golden West Financial Corporation, who have committed $10 million a year to the project.”
Herb and Miriion Sandler were discussed by Time in 25 People to Blame for the Financial Crisis
In the early 1980s, the Sandlers' World Savings Bank became the first to sell a tricky home loan called the option ARM. And they pushed the mortgage, which offered several ways to back-load your loan and thereby reduce your early payments, with increasing zeal and misleading advertisements over the next two decades. The couple pocketed $2.3 billion when they sold their bank to Wachovia in 2006. But losses on World Savings' loan portfolio led to the implosion of Wachovia, which was sold under duress late last year to Wells Fargo.
This situation gave rise to one of Saturday Night Live’s wittiest and bravest skits. The Washington City Paper carried the text in Saturday Night Live, and Marion and Herbert Sandler Ruth Samuelson Dec 30, 2008
Herbert Sandler: My wife and I had a company which aggressively marketed subprime mortgages, and then bundled them into securities to sell to banks such as Wachovia. Today, our portfolio is worth almost nothing — though at one point, it was worth close to $19 billion.
Pelosi: My God. I am so sorry. Were you able to sell it for anything.
Herbert Sandler: Yes, for $24 billion.
Pelosi: I see. So in that sense, you’re not so to speak, actual victims.
Herbert Sandler (chuckling): Oh, no. That would be Wachovia Bank.
Marion Sandler: Actually, we’ve done quite well. We’re very happy.
Funny thing! Saturday Night Live was bullied into taking the clip down. The version above comes from Archive.org.
The Minority Mortgage Meltdown was of such interest to VDARE.com that we have a whole category devoted to it. The Sandlers were major beneficiaries.
Now, a decade later, these ill-gotten gains are being used to try to destroy us.
