Chris Rufo, hero of the counterattack against DEI, has struck again, outing another black female DEI professor, Harvard’s Christina Cross [Email her/Tweet her], pictured right:

Harvard professor Christina Cross is a rising star in the field of critical race studies. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, secured the support of the National Science Foundation, and garnered attention from the New York Times, where she published an influential article titled “The Myth of the Two-Parent Home.”

According to a new complaint filed with Harvard’s office of research integrity, however, Cross’s work is compromised by multiple instances of plagiarism, including “verbatim plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, uncited paraphrasing, and uncited quotations from other sources.”

Rufo goes into (appropriate) excruciating detail about this accusation.

He then asks

…what is happening at Harvard? We have seen an explosion of plagiarism allegations against prominent scholars and administrators in recent months, all associated with critical race studies and “diversity and inclusion” programs. Former president Claudine Gay, chief diversity officer Sherri Ann Charleston, DEI administrator Shirley Greene, and now star professor Christina Cross have each come under fire for alleged plagiarism.

He then steps on a landmine:

Independent researchers currently looking into plagiarism at Harvard should scrutinize not only these programs but also a control group in other, more substantive disciplines to determine whether plagiarism correlates with left-wing racial disciplines or is widespread throughout the university.

That is a Ground-Zero question. See the late Sam FrancisFranz Boas—Liberal Icon, Scientific Fraud, which pointed out that  Boas [1858-1942], more less the founder of equalitarian anthropology,

was intent on showing that the scientific racism of the day had no basis, but he did have to shade his data some to make it come out that way.
A New Look at Old Data May Discredit a Theory on Race, by Nicholas Wade, NYT, October 8, 2002

A Harvard Crimson article on the Rufo/Cross controversy, shamefully bereft of hyperlinks, reports:

On X, Rufo… called for greater scrutiny on the scholarship of Black academics who study race or diversity.

“Let’s not ignore the pattern … One of my sources investigated white social-justice scholars at Harvard, but did not find plagiarism in their work.”

Fourth Black Female Harvard Scholar Accused of Plagiarism Amid Assault on DEI Initiatives,  by Tilly R. Robinson and Neil H. Shah, March 23, 2024

Old Leftist Rick Perlstein [Tweet him] on Twitter, seems to think that Rufo, who he calls “Thug Ruffo” is the guilty one, harassing black women only.

Steve Sailer replies:

Academic misconduct by black DEI officials has spread far beyond Harvard:

LaVar Charleston—who once assaulted a police officer—passed off old studies as new research at least five times

As Peter Brimelow reported in DEATH BY SUBPOENA: Lawfare Comes For DEI Hero Chris Rufo (As Well As VDARE.com),  the python which is currently killing VDARE.com is also encircling Chris Rufo:

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has in recent years taken up the cause of enforcing Black Privilege / White Subordination. In this matter, it has decided that conservative activist Chris Rufo is Public Enemy #1. He is heavily featured in its sanctimonious and self-congratulatory post: Anti-DEI Efforts Are the Latest Attack on Racial Equity and Free Speechby Leah Watson, ACLU.org, February 14, 2024.

We at VDARE.com wish Chris Rufo more justice than we have had.
