Earlier: The Moratorium Is Set To Expire This Week—Will Trump Renew?

Washington Watcher II called Trump's immigration moratorium, the temporary shutdown of legal immigration in response to COVID's economic devastation, a "huge win for America".

Last night, I wrote that in 2020 America achieved, albeit temporarily,  an employment-based Immigration Moratorium, something we couldn't even get discussed in the Great Recession.

The measure would have expired last night at midnight, but Trump DID renew it:  President Trump Extends Freeze On Many Worker Visas, by Franco Ordoñez, NPR,  December 31, 2020.

That's despite reports that Ivanka Trump didn't want him to.

I don't know who said that, but of course Trump's kids don't have any political future outside of Trumpism.
