The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, softened on Thursday the harsh message that she had sent to potential migrants during her trip this week to Guatemala and Mexico, assuring that she is "committed" to ensuring that her country will be a "safe haven. "for those seeking asylum.
In an exclusive interview with Efe, Harris also defended that her country is not "ignoring" Honduras and El Salvador; and revealed that during her meetings with the presidents of Mexico and Guatemala, she asked them to let the NGOs and the press in their countries "do their work" without obstacles.
