This incisive 1,600-word account of Chinese exploitation of American tolerance concludes severely:

Americans cannot afford to leave any Communist Party member or any Chinese saboteur, agent, official, banker, or corporate officer in America. There should be no Chinese consulates in the U.S., and the embassy staff of hundreds should be cut down to the ambassador, his personal staff, and family.

What caught my eye, however, was the summary bullet points:

• Beijing has almost certainly purchased most of the Biden family. In March, a spokesperson for Hunter Biden’s legal team admitted that Hunter had received ”good faith seed funds” from an energy company in China. That was essentially an admission of bribery ... no Chinese business in these circumstances would pay seed money.
• In addition to the Bidens, China has purchased hundreds—if not thousands—of politicians, academics, businesspeople and law enforcement officials at the federal, state, and municipal levels. [Emphasis added.]

This raises the ugly question of the GOP Leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell. Since 1983, McConnell has been married to Elaine Chao, former Trump Secretary of Transportation, who distinguished herself by jumping ship as soon as things got rough after the Jan 6 ambush.

Much more important, Chao’s family is supposed to be worth several billion dollars through their ownership of a shipping company the U.S. manifestation of which is the Foremost Group.

As scrupulously laid out in Peter Schweizer’s Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win, the Chao shipping interests were a grace-and-favor creation of the Chinese Communists. They built the ships, financed them and gave the Chaos the key shipping routes which built their fortune.

In a blink, this could all be taken away.

How can the GOP Leadership, or even the rank and file, tolerate even the appearance of such corruption?

I am not sure I really want to know the answer.
