Much Earlier: Memo To The President: Nothing Is More Permanent Than Temporary Workers

President Trump tells us he "will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States."

Will "temporarily" have the same meaning here as it has when we "temporarily" permit aliens on nonimmigrant visas to stay here for ever via the Temporary Protected Status program because of some calamity in their home countries?

I doubt it, but … let's dream.
