The suspect was described as an Asian male in his 20s, between 5-feet 8-inches and 6 feet tall, wearing a bright green nylon jacket and dark-rimmed glasses.

Broome Community College Assistant Professor Tuong Hung Nguyen was asked to work with police to communicate with the shooter. Nguyen is fluent in Vietnamese. [Page 2 of a two page item in a local paper]

At least four people were killed today when a man opened fire at in immigration center in upstate New York.

Several law enforcement agencies now have the American Civic Association in Binghamton surrounded.

This is ongoing situation and reports are mixed…

But, local media describe the suspect as an Asian male and say he may have opened fire during a citizenship test.

In addition to the four people killed–at least a dozen people have been wounded–and as many as 40 people have been taken hostage.
