In the next few days, VDARE.com will be discussing April’s Immigration Patriot Prophets.
Hint: the 50th Anniversary of Enoch Powell’s great immigration speech, popularly but inaccurately known as his “Rivers of Blood Speech,” is coming up on April 20. Obviously, Powell anticipated the crisis that has now engulfed not just Britain and America, but the entire West.
Less well known: Powell succeeded in scaring the British Political Class into slow-walking the immigration for the next 20 years. Only after Powell’s death in 1998 were the floodgates really opened, by the government of Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair—eerily similar to German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s opening the floodgates to “refugees” in 2015 (and also to the Amnesty/ Immigration Surge that Hillary Clinton was openly planning to unleash upon America if she had been elected in 2016).
Maybe they plot all this at Davos.
Moral: prophets have power—even if they aren’t given credit (or feel credited) at the time.
This is why, at VDARE.com, we often use the slogan “The Truth Shall Make You Free” (John 8:32 if you’d like to know). We believe that by making facts and analyses relating to America’s Immigration Disaster freely available (i.e. for free), we empower ordinary Americans. We inform the fight to keep America American.
And in fact it has been grassroots pressure, not Beltway maneuvering, that held the Establishment’s repeated Amnesty/ Immigration Surge attempts at bay for almost two decades.
We also believe that our VDARE.com strategy was vindicated by the election, from the Heartland in defiance of America’s Political Class, of President Donald J. Trump.
But we can’t make facts and analyses relating to America’s Immigration Disaster freely available unless you continue help us.
I can’t say that VDARE.com’s first April Immigration Patriot Prophet is particularly conscious of exerting power, or receiving credit: it’s me.
My immigration book Alien Nation: Common Sense About America’s Immigration Disaster was published today, April 4, in 1995, 23 (!) years ago. The picture above is from my Booknotes interview with Brian Lamb (my most difficult interview, precisely because Lamb’s questions were so unnervingly neutral).
My hair appears to have changed color since 1995!—like America.
But both are still here.

VDARE.com has more than enough traffic (n.b. free market purists) to be financially viable. But in the last 12 months we’ve been “deplatformed” (always without warning—swine!) by Amazon, Google AdSense, PayPal etc.
PayPal’s treachery alone, because we had no warning although we had an alternative payment system ready, has cost us a cumulative $30,000 in lost recurring donations, subscriptions etc.
Bottom line: if American patriots want immigration patriot truth, they are going to have to pay for it directly.
Actually, this is a just reversion to the early days of journalism. Newsletters sprang up long before advertising-driven newspapers, and this business model survived into the late 20th century in the form of investment letters (about whom, in another life, I wrote a book).
