Re: Peter Brimelow's Blog: Obama's Immigration Speech: Stop Laughing, He's Serious

As an Independent Barack Obama supporter, I am beyond horrified after hearing one of the worst speeches of my life from a normally great orator. It was as if Obama were in a contest to utter the most obsolete, maudlin immigration clichés possible. Some of Obama's trite analysis may have been true in the 1800s—but not today.

Obama's shocking support of amnesty shows what happens when a president surrounds himself with staff and advisors who engage in pro-minority group think.

His speech was simple-minded in its endorsement of the same disastrous 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act and in its rejection of the common good of American people.

After listening to Obama, I'm sobered to see what we are up against. Now we must fight longer, harder and smarter to preserve America.
