03/24/08 - A Reader Agrees:
VDARE.COM Must Expose Obama
From: John W. Slagle (e-mail
him)
I have served many Presidents over three decades, in
the military and federal service from the Vietnam era up
to and including to the terrorist attacks against
America that culminated in 9/11.
On the issues of illegal immigration, crime and
stealth amnesty, Presidential hopeful McCain is
unpopular with retired as well as active duty U.S.
Border Patrol Agents and union
local 2544 because he has worked actively to make
their jobs more difficult.
Here's how:
- In 2003, McCain co-sponsored
S. 1645, the AgJOBS amnesty and was also a
co-sponsor of the
S. 1461 proposed amnesty for millions of illegal
aliens.
- In 2005, McCain
and Sen. Kennedy
introduced
S.1033, the McCain-Kennedy amnesty for virtually
all illegal aliens, he co-sponsored S. 239, the
AgJOBS amnesty, and he voted against providing
funding for additional Border Patrol and ICE agents.
- In 2006, McCain
voted against extending the border fence, voted to
allow illegal aliens to receive
Social Security,
voted against funding additional immigration
investigators and voted in favor of
S. 2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform
Act of 2006 that would have would have awarded
amnesty to more than 10 million illegal aliens.
- In 2007, McCain
was heavily involved in the backroom negotiations
of S. 1348 with Sen.
Kennedy and President Bush for another
amnesty for more than 10 million illegal aliens, he
cast several votes to protect still another amnesty
(S.
1639), he co-sponsored S. 774,
the DREAM Act to grant in-state tuition and
amnesty for more than a million illegal aliens under
the age of 30, and finally he co-sponsored S. 340,
the Agricultural Job Opportunities, Benefits, and
Security Act of 2007 to grant amnesty to millions of
illegal agricultural workers. A prior program for
agricultural workers (SAW)
passed in 1986 was filled with fraud.
In not one single vote did McCain
ever have the best interests of America at heart.
