Julie Myers Wood was the head of U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement from 2006 to 2008 under “conservative” President George W. Bush. Now that she’s done her time failing to enforce immigration law, she’s moved on to lobbying for more illegal immigration, to the cheers of the liberal Main Stream Media. One Mary Sanchez in the Kansas City Star fawns:
Nine months ago, in the Wall Street Journal, a former Bush administration official described the sorry plight of children now streaming northward across the U.S.-Mexico border.Sanchez plays down Kids In Need of Defense (KIND), a guilt tripping law firm financed by self-interested mega-donors from the Slave Power.
Hundreds of children, mostly from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, are showing up daily, their numbers having increased in recent months as violence and poverty have spiked upward in their home countries. They are overwhelming border patrol stations and raising concerns about health and safety, not to mention the dilemma of locating their parents. The Department of Homeland Security is scrambling, setting up space at military bases in Oklahoma, Texas and California to keep the children until their futures can be decided.
Estimates are that 90,000 children will attempt to cross into the U.S. this year.
Julie Myers Wood… co-authored The Journal op-ed with attorney Wendy Young. Young heads Kids in Need of Defense.
Not surprisingly, Wood and Young are both concern-trolling about the illegal alien juveniles actually being deported, as the law requires.
The two women raised the alarm about the increasing numbers of children at our border. And they pointed out that in immigration proceedings, nobody — including children — is guaranteed legal representation. That fact can have dire consequences for a child. It’s funny how the “conscience of America” seems to coincide with the bottom line interests of Wood’s lobbying clients and Young’s megadonors.
“We’ve seen 5-year-old immigrants in front of a U.S. judge, about to be sent back into harm’s way,” they wrote.
Their piece was a thoughtful, nuanced appeal to the conscience of America. “For a nation founded on the principles of due process and access to justice, we are grievously violating both when it comes to deporting undocumented immigrant children,” they argued.
Journalist Sanchez follows the pattern typical of her profession when she says,
The government can’t and won’t lock down a border that is nearly 2,000 miles long and traverses mountains, water and desert. Nor will the U.S. curtail cross-border traffic with Mexico, the nation’s third largest trading partner at $507 billion in commercial transactions in 2013.Therefore, the solution is to make sure that Americans are no longer able to get jobs.
To suggest that curtailing undocumented immigration is a matter of border control belittles the massive amount of technology and manpower already in place for security. A far more constructive approach to the problem would be making it feasible for migrants to arrive legally and stay temporarily to take jobs that Americans will not do.Immigration patriots know that the real reason for the spike in illegal immigration: the Obama Regime Administrative Amnesty which is empowering illegal aliens, even some with felony convictions, to enter the country without fear of deportation.
The result is that Sanchez’s fellow members of the Fourth Estate in Central America are confidently urging their countrymen to invade the United States.
Central Americans say news reports in their countries are encouraging them to make the journey north to the United States. The woman profiled in the article is a previous deportee, but that will not stop her from trying again.
A mother and child told CHANNEL 5 NEWS that the message being disseminated in their country is, "go to America with your child, you won't be turned away..."

Bercian Diaz said she has a haunting past. She was deported a year ago. Her fear is that the deportation will break up her family.Notice that she still refers to Guatemala as “[her] country” but thinks she is entitled to a life in the United States paid for by your taxes.
"I'm afraid," the woman said crying.
"I'm afraid of being sent back to my country. I don't have any family in the United States, I just have friends," she said.
Bercian Diaz worked in California restaurants until she got caught. She would send money back to help her daughter.
But really, she’s just doing the same thing as people like Wood and Young. Not content with the largesse they enjoy from corporate donors, both Wood and Young want the taxpayers to subsidize their living.
For a nation founded on the principles of due process and access to justice, we are grievously violating both when it comes to deporting undocumented immigrant children. There are no public defenders in our immigration system. Immigrants facing deportation must find and pay for their own lawyers to make their case before an immigration judge and counter a U.S. government attorney arguing for their deportation—regardless of their age.Of course, Courts have never ruled that tax-payer funded counsel is required for aliens in removal proceedings, and it is quite illegal for the government to provide such assistance to any alien, much less a juvenile, and is prohibited by Title 8 of the United States Code, Section 1362:
[Children Alone and Lawyerless in a Strange Land, by Julie Myers Wood and Wendy Young, Wall Street Journal, September 22, 2013]
In any removal proceedings before an immigration judge and in any appeal proceedings before the Attorney General from any such removal proceedings, the person concerned shall have the privilege of being represented (at no expense to the Government) by such counsel, authorized to practice in such proceedings, as he shall choose. This is not stopping Attorney General Eric “My People” Holder from already implementing a “free lawyers for illegals” policy.
To George Bush’s head of ICE, liberal reporters, immigration nonprofits, and the Obama Regime, the United States of America and its laws is just one big scam. Each one of these powerful constituencies benefits from the open borders status quo.
Lobbyist Julie Meyers Wood and “nonprofit” head Wendy Young get more money from corporations and taxpayers, liberal reporters get more sob stories and awards, and anti-white politicians like Holder and Obama get to import more welfare dependent voters to outvote and ultimately replace the historic American nation.
What is needed is only the will to use it.
But in order to do that, the historic American nation has to sweepaside the politicians seeking to destroy them. In the face of this unprecedented invasion, it is either us or them.
