One of the weirder religious manifestations of this century is The Cult of Henrietta Lacks’ Cancer Cells that is huge among NPR listeners and the like. Now, this holiest of miracle-producing relics has its own icon. From CNN: The Smithsonian unveils a portrait of Henrietta Lacks, the black farmer whose cells led to medical miracles By Hollie Silverman, CNN, Updated 7:16 AM ET, Thu May 17, 2018 ...

The total number of homicides in Chicago shot upwards from 512 in 2015 to 808 in 2016, following progressives at the ACLU and Obama Administrations taking effective control of the Chicago Police Department after the city finally released video of a cop shooting a black male on 11/23/2015. Now, you might think that the ACLU would be a little embarrassed about those 296 incremental dead bodies in o...

From my new column in Taki’s Magazine: The High Price of Affordable L.A.by Steve Sailer, January 16, 2019 With my hometown of Los Angeles coming back into fashion again, it’s worth wondering whether some of its traditional problems are fixable. Or do urban-planning mistakes tend to be forever? There’s glib talk these days about the need to build affordable housing, but much of Los Angeles is test...

From the Washington Post opinion section: Steve King says he was just defending ‘Western Civilization.’ That’s racist, too. By David Perry and Matthew Gabriele, January 15 at 4:45 PM After years of making racist statements and promoting racist policies, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) may finally have gone too far. In a recent interview, he told the New York Times, “White nationalist, white supremacist,...

From Vox: Almost all of the actresses who’ve played Cleopatra have been white. But was she? Angelina Jolie and Lady Gaga are rumored to be contenders to play the queen in a new biopic.By Nadra Nittle Jan 14, 2019, 6:20pm EST Since meaty roles for women are still too few in Hollywood, landing the character could be the chance of a lifetime for any actress. But the Twitter debate about Cleopatra is...

Gillette has been a marketing powerhouse for generations. Whether this is another genius Gillette move to get you to spend more is an interesting question. Uh … “White Man Bad” is usually a good guess at what the message is. Corporate Wokeness usually is not much more intellectually sophisticated than that. Speaking of Gillette, Mickey Kaus wrote in Slate in 2010: Mickey’s Assignment Desk–The Gi...

Earlier by Harri Honkanen: Muslim Grooming Gangs In Finland—Exposed, As In U.K., By “Right-Wing Extremists”

https://i.imgur.com/4q3n26I.jpgThe industrial city of Oulu, the largest settlement in northern Finland, markets itself as “the Capital of Northern Scandinavia.” The slogan can be found everywhere, from the entry to its small airport to the sides of its buses. But it’s soon going to have to change this to “The Muslim Child-Grooming and Rape Capital of Scandinavia.” The grooming scandal I wrote about last month has finally erupted into public debate—thanks in part to British Dissident Right journalist and activist Katie Hopkins.

Exactly as in Britain, Oulu’s authorities, police and newspapers had been colluding to conceal the arrest of 7 Muslim “refugees” for grooming and sexually assaulting white girls—aged between 10 and 14—from the Finnish people. They were thwarted by an intrepid independent nationalist councilor Junes Lokka. Now the situation has spiraled entirely out of control. Hence Katie Hopkins has made her way to the Arctic city to find out what’s going on.

On December 10th, about 100 furious Finns turned up to protest about the rapes and their cover up in front of Oulu City Hall. At one point, a “foreign background” (“Muslim”) construction worker, carrying a knife, stood on the city hall’s steps to defend Islam before being disarmed, dragged off the steps, beaten up, and then taken away by the police. The specter of "controlled democracy," a system in which only certain political parties and individuals have any freedom to run for office, is spreading in the West. The German government has announced it is going to step up spying on the Alternative for Germany (AfD) Party, perhaps the only mainstream political movement in Germany that opposes the eradication of the German people through mass immi...

In his recent piece here, Allan Wall discussed some of the Democrats' reinforcements in Congress: Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (dubbed "Occasional-Cortex" by some wag who was surely keying on her frequent public pronouncements), Sylvia Garcia, Veronica Escobar, Deb Haaland, Sharice Davids, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Kyrsten Sinema.  The renowned bar scene in the first Star Wars movie comes to mind. ...

Looks like the illegal-alien invasion that began in Honduras on Columbus Day, surged over Mexico’s border and landed in Tijuana, is just the beginning. Another human train has formed in Honduras and is supposed to leave at 5 a.m. January 15. [A new migrant caravan is forming in Central America, with plans to leave next week, by Sarah Kinosian and Kevin Sieff, The Washington Post, January 11, 2019] But Mexico’s interior minister suggests her government won’t simply permit a deluge of Central Americans to tramp over Mexico’s borders at will.

Though stopped in Tijuana, WaPo’s reporters claim the first caravan is viewed as a success.

[I]n Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, where pockets of extreme violence persist and economic opportunities are limited in many places, there is a widespread perception that the earlier group succeeded. “Many people see the last caravan as a success in that people were able to travel safely, and they were well taken care of,” [Karen] Valladares [executive director of the National Forum for Migration in Honduras] said.

Indeed. The “migrants” didn’t just travel safely and receive food and water. Some made it across the border, where American authorities released them. Example: the 19-year-old pregnant Honduran who scaled the border barrier at Tijuana to give birth is now somewhere in Ohio. [Honduran woman, 19, in migrant caravan scales border wall to give birth in US after 2,000-mile trip, by Barnini Chakraborty, Fox News, December 6, 2018]

Meanwhile, Mexico is letting the horde stay in Tijuana while their cases are adjudicated. That decision came down despite Mexico’s denying it made a “Third Country Agreement” to house “migrants” indefinitely.

Still, WaPo reported in the same article, caravans are the way to go because they’re safer and cheaper. Caravanners don’t have to pay criminal and possibly murderous smugglers who exploit and harm them.

"Stop the ENDLESS WARS!" implored President Donald Trump in a Sunday night tweet. Well, if he is serious, Trump had best keep an eye on his national security adviser, for a U.S. war on Iran would be a dream come true for John Bolton. Last September, when Shiite militants launched three mortar shells into the Green Zone in Baghdad, which exploded harmlessly in a vacant lot, Bolton called a series of...

And then they came for Steve King. The immigration patriot Iowa congressman fell for a Main Stream Media setup in The New York Times. [Before Trump, Steve King Set the Agenda for the Wall and Anti-Immigrant Politics, by Trip Gabriel, January 10, 2019]  The clickbait headlines screamed Steve King had asked why “white nationalist, white supremacist, Western Civilization” had “become offensive.” Of course, he hadn’t—King is notoriously inarticulate, the quote was obviously garbled and, significantly, no audio or transcript has been released. But Conservatism Inc. obediently joined in anyway.

The truth: Congressman King was once again defending his non-racial view of American identity. And indeed he has subsequently denounced “white nationalism” and “white supremacy” as an “evil ideology.”

(VDARE.com thinks King is being wimpish about the term “white nationalism.” Thus Editor Peter Brimelow said in our FAQ statement that we publish

…a few writers, for example Jared Taylor, whom I would regard as "white nationalist," in the sense that they aim to defend the interests of American whites. They are not white supremacists. They do not advocate violence. They are rational and civil. They brush their teeth. But they unashamedly work for their people—exactly as La Raza works for Latinos and the Anti-Defamation League works for Jews.

Get used to it. As immigration policy drives whites into a minority, this type of interest-group "white nationalism" will inexorably increase. [Emphasis added].

Still, we note that Jared Taylor has subsequently abandoned the term “white nationalism” as hopelessly smeared, and now calls himself a “white advocate.”)
