Her name is Nicole Hammond. A white 28 year old woman from St Cloud, Minnesota shot dead by her black co-worker for rejecting his advances.
Michael Carpenter, 36, has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting of Nicole Hammond.
Prosecutors say Carpenter was harassing Hammond despite her repeated requests to be left alone. Her cell phone showed that she had asked Carpenter to stop trying to “touch her”, and to stop making her feel uncomfortable at work.
At 6:59 am on October 24th, Witnesses say they saw Carpenter shoot Hammond as she was exiting her car outside of their workplace. A search of his car produced a 9mm handgun, matching shell casings found around the victim.
He admitted to arguing with the victim, and that he was at the scene of the murder.
