Brenda Walker pulled an excellent quote from Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) out of a recent Investor's Business Daily editorial (House GOP Plans To Save Obama With Immigration Reform, January 21, 2014).
But the same editorial's next-to-last paragraph contains a real clunker:
Last month, a Pew poll found that Hispanics believe 55%-35% that finding a way for illegals to live and work in the U.S. lawfully without fear of deportation is more important than giving them amnesty. So the idea that GOP support for amnesty is the prerequisite to gaining more Hispanic votes doesn't bear scrutiny.
The IBD editors apparently didn't grasp that the first sentence of that paragraph contradicts itself ... since, as Brenda and others have been emphasizing forever, any form of legalization, including work permits, **IS** amnesty!!!
