Over at Examiner.com, a writer by the name of Miguel Perez has an article entitled "Latino Group Claims Aztlán War in Next Five Years" (August 27th, 2011).  Here's the whole article (it's just three paragraphs):

Phoenix-based Nuestros Reconquistos claims that there will be a war very similar to the Civil War fought in the next five years. “La Raza and MEChA have already talked to Latinos and Phoenix and explained that Latinos need to arm themselves for war,” says Nuestros Reconquistos President Manuel Longoria.

Cecilia Maldonado of Chicanos Unidos Arizona isn’t hoping for any sort of war, but believes it may be unavoidable. “For generations, our people have prepared us to take back the lands of the Southwest that were stolen from our Mexican ancestors. Because of the bad economy and many racist laws, Latinos will be forced to fight sooner than later,” says Mrs. Maldonado.

Latino groups believe they have enough people in states such as California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas to successfully wage a war on the United States.  Who’s [sic] side will you be on?

Maybe, but then again, at the rate of our country's demographic transition and the growing power of the Hispanic Lobby, will such a "civil war" even be necessary?  I mean, most Americans have pretty much surrendered to the illegal invasion up until now. Of course, stuff like this does get people's attention. Here are some of the comments that follow the article:

"Armed insurrection? In the SW? Americans are some of the most heavily armed individuals in the world. If some revolution were to take place the gov't would be the last ones to the party! Leave no doubt in anyone's mind, this madness has been talke about for years. The leaders of such a movement would be quietly neutralized along with their supporters."

Yes, but these same "heavily armed individuals" have been letting this invasion occur for years, hiring illegal aliens   and voting for people like John McCain and George W. Bush who aid and abet it.  Then there was this comment from a Texan:

" Mr. Perez...Start your revolution any time you're ready...The American citizen has been ready for years...but has kept himself restrained out of respect for LAW. We know the rules and are prepared to FEARLESSLY apply them..."

Well, where was this Texan this past summer when a mild attempt to deal with the illegal invasion of Texas was scuttled in the Texas Legislature by cheap labor profiteers?

My point is, it's easy to talk big on a comment thread.  I hope these (and others) are working in the movement, politically,  to stop illegal immigration. Maybe they are.  I hope they are.
