One interesting thing about the three hard science Nobel Prizes (Medicine/Physiology, Chemistry, and Physics) is that the Swedes don’t feel much of the obligation toward diversity that everybody else seems to feel.
The first for 2017, Medicine/Physiology, has been announced and it’s three white guys born in America: Jeffrey C. Hall, Michael Rosbash, and Michael W. Young. Two were associated with Brandeis U. and one with Rockefeller U.
