Intelligent Life in Con Establishment?

From:  Thomas Miller, New York

It seems as if another figure in the Conservative Establishment is beginning to get realistic about immigration and the GOP's electoral chances.  Frontpage Magazine, which is edited by David Horowitz, just published this piece:

While Horowitz himself didn't write the article, he doesn't run pieces with which he has substantial disagreement. Don't be put off by the article's title or hyper-polite tone. It explicitly states, numerous times, that the GOP stands little to no chance of winning more of the minority vote and that the GOP needs to reduce immigration if it is to escape extinction. This is a big deal because Horowitz has the ear of several influential people close to Bush and his pamphlets are widely read among Republican strategists. Perhaps there is hope yet.
