01/04/09 - A New Jersey Reader Says Amnesty Chances No Better in 2010, 2011 or 2012, But Braver Republicans Would Be Nice

From: Mary (e-mail her)

I have been praying each night that president-elect Barack Obama's corrupt Cabinet and staff selections would eventually be exposed. So when I read that illegal immigration advocate Bill Richardson withdrew his name from consideration for Commerce Secretary, I was ecstatic.

Now we need more of them having the light shone hard upon them.

I'm still angry with U. S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald for giving Rahm Emanuel a free pass. But at least we have Richardson down, hopefully with others to follow.

Anyway, I had to write VDARE.COM to express my delight at Richardson scurrying away because he's afraid of what was going to come out down the line.

Joe Guzzardi comments: I suppose it is too much to hope for, since 99 percent of presidential Cabinet appointments are approved…but the Senate has plenty of fodder to go after Hillary Clinton before it confirms her as Secretary of State.

Clinton's husband Bill and his extensive financial ties to the Middle East should be a strike—maybe two—against her.

And, as with Richardson, Clinton's financing is suspect. An upstate New York developer donated $100,000 to the former President's foundation in November 2004, around the same time that Senator Clinton helped secure millions of dollars in federal assistance for a developer's Syracuse mall project. But with so few Senators able to withstand an in-depth probe into their own finances, it's unrealistic to expect them to launch an investigation into Clinton's.
