Re: Joe Guzzardi's Blog: 101 Ways To Celebrate A Christian Christmas

In a partial win for our side in our War against Christmas, Missouri State University decided to put back up a Christmas tree after it had been taken down earlier in the week. [Christmas Tree At Strong Hall Will Share Space With Menora, By Marie Saavedra, KY3 News, November 29, 2007]

A faculty member objected to the Christmas tree on the grounds that it offends people of other religions. A floor of telephone calls and e-mails protesting the Christmas tree's removal forced the administrators to reverse their decision.

But those same administrators placed a menorah next to the Christmas tree. According to an MSU press release, the school was motivated by a desire:

"to represent the inclusiveness of the fall Holiday season. Further, a display case will be created to provide a secure and educational display of holiday traditions. The display cases on the second floor of Strong Hall will also be used in the future to provide educational information on holiday traditions during other seasons of the year."

Notice the use, three times, of "holiday"

Taft's previous letter about Mrs. Fields', she of the cookie world, assault on Christmas is here. Read Taft's other letters wondering why feminists don't speak out when aliens commit violent crimes against women and the havoc wreaked by "unaccompanied alien minors" here and here.
