Last month: 33 BLACK-ON-WHITE HOMICIDES, Including A Father And His Two Small Boys: December 2021—Another Month In The Death Of White America

January 2022 saw a record since we began this series: 46 black-on-white homicides! But that’s partly because we count homicides in the month we find out about them. A mere thirty-six actually happened in January. (But that’s still a record.) They include a police officer, an 18-month-old baby boy, and the usual toll of white women killed by their black significant others.

  • Brianna Kupfer was fatally stabbed while working at a furniture store in Los Angeles, CA.

One double murder of two white women happened over 20 years ago, but the killer was executed in January:

  • Brenda McElyea, 29, and Felicia Suzette Smith, 43, were fatally shot in 2001.

Executed for the crime, on January 30, 2022, 20 years, six months, and nine days after he committed murder, was 46-year-old Donald Grant.

Grant admitted, during a clemency hearing, that he had killed the two so there  would be no witnesses to his robbery ['Yo, God, I got this!' Sometimes Hispanics and Asians are the victims of black crime because they’re considered, by the killers, to be the same as whites. (Recall the case of mixed-race attack survivor George Zimmerman, for example.) Thus:

  • Calogero Duenes, a 24-year-old Hispanic father and husband, was fatally shot in Humble, TX.

Duenes was shot while carrying his daughter’s birthday cake into Chuck E. Cheese. Arrested was Antoine Daniel Badon, 27.

  • 40-year-old Michelle Go died after being pushed in front of a moving subway train in New York City, NY.

Simon Martial, 61, admitted to committing the crime, reports say.

Arrested were Jordan Ruby, 18, and Jesani Carter, 20.

Here’s a report we missed from February 2020:

Her boyfriend, Terrion Sherman, 23, allegedly stabbed her to death.

Sherman was found incompetent to stand trial and “civilly committed” for mental illness. It was a recommitment—he had been committed in 2019 and released.

Sherman is known in Minnesota as a gap case – found incompetent to stand trial in previous charges due to mental illness, then released back into the community while still incompetent, often without the necessary help and support.

This month’s roundup includes two “cold case” black serial killers with white victims, one solved, and one unsolved:

  • Gerald Cavanaugh, a 50-year-old White homosexual male, was believed to have been murdered 48 years ago along with five other White men thought to have been killed by the same suspect: Joseph "Jae" Stevens, 27, Klaus Christmann, 25, Warren Andrews, 52, Frederick Capin, 32, and Harald Gullberg, 66.

Renewed efforts are being made to locate the suspect. He has been dubbed "The Black Doodler" and was described by foxnews.com as "a Black male between 19 and 25 years old" at the time of the killings.

[San Francisco police double reward for cold case ‘Doodler’ serial killer,  by Michael Ruiz, Fox News, January 28, 2022]

  • 53-year-old Madeleine Furey-Livaudais was fatally stabbed in August, 1980 in Denver, CO. Three other women (two black and one Hispanic) were apparently killed by the same suspect, as well as a white policewoman who tried to arrest him for a traffic violation.

That suspect, Joe Michael Ervin, was identified by DNA testing in January, 2022.

Ervin killed himself in jail in 1981, after murdering white female police officer Debra Sue Corr, whose gun he grabbed when she tried to arrest him during a traffic stop.

The Denver Police Crime Laboratory linked the four cold cases using DNA evidence between 2013 and 2018. After conducting a familial search, the crime laboratory identified Ervin and exhumed his remains in Texas for a direct DNA comparison to the crime scene evidence.

And there are two extremely negligent homicides:

  • Brittanie Ferguson, 32, was killed in a head-on collision while enroute to her birthday party.

Charged with manslaughter, because she was driving on the wrong side of the road of State Highway 27, was 31-year-old Andrea Stacy.

[Suspect accused of manslaughter in Enterprise car crash arrested by EPD, by Seth Feiner and Mike Gurspan, wdhn.com, January 8, 2022]

  • Matthew Willson, 31, of Chertsey, Surrey, England, was fatally shot in Atlanta.

Reports say Willson was shot by a stray bullet that pierced a wall of an apartment, one of THIRTY wild shots fired from a nearby apartment complex (see map below).

Wild shooting like this is certainly a black pastime, but in the interest of full disclosure we should note that online reviews of the complex and reports of an earlier shooting suggest that most of the inhabitants are Hispanic.

However, ominous for the state of law enforcement in Atlanta, no one has been charged.

Overall, FBI data suggests blacks are over 13 times more likely to kill whites than vice versa.

But we did find one (1) case of a white-on-black murder in January:

  • Campus Safety Officer J.J. Jefferson and Campus Police Officer John Painter were fatally shot in Bridgewater, VA.

Jefferson was black, Painter was white. Arrested was 27-year-old Alexander Wyatt Campbell, a former student at  the college where the shooting took place.

[2 officers shot and killed at Bridgewater College, Fox5dc.com, February 1, 2022]

On the other hand, we also found a (fairly rare) case) of two murders of white people committed by an Asian. This is so much of an outlier that we haven't included it in our tally of 46 deaths, above.

Arrested was 31-year-old Yong Yoon Kim.

While officers were on the scene, they received information Kim was in the area, APD said. According to APD, Kim called 911 and advised that he had gotten into an altercation with two men and shot them in self-defense.
