Is this the absolute worst example of why people are fleeing 62 percent black Baltimore, a city which boasts one of the highest murder rates in not just America, but the entire world?

City councilman blames Baltimore’s population decline on car dominance; residents skeptical, by Jeff Abell, Fox Baltimore, September 11, 2023

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — City Councilman Ryan Dorsey is blaming Baltimore’s shrinking population on the city’s abundant number of cars.

“Our population loss is directly aligned with the trajectory of car dominance and the city’s investment to cater and shift to car dominance,” wrote Dorsey in a social media post.

Baltimore’s population has dropped by almost 6% since 2010 and Dorsey, who has sat on the council for much of that time, is pointing his finger at automobiles.

”You cannot properly understand or effectively address population loss without directly confronting car dominance,” posted Dorsey.

His comments drew criticism in Brooklyn on Monday from residents whose dinner was interrupted by a police chase through the community.

“That don’t make sense about cars,” said one unidentified resident who blamed crime for the city’s mass exodus.

Head on a swivel: “Abundant number of cars could be here,” he thought

Longtime Baltimore businessman John Sachs believes the city’s population will continue to dwindle until city leaders face the problems head on.

“I’ve never said, ‘hey I’m not going there because there’s too many cars,’” said Sachs.

“I have said ‘hey I’m not going there because there’s too much crime’” and that’s exactly what people say about Baltimore City,” said Sachs.

Car dominance? Is this another synonym for white privilege?

It’s amazing how easy it would be to just simply say, “You know, maybe if black people didn’t commit so much crime, people and businesses wouldn’t be leaving Baltimore.”

Instead, we get nonsense like an overabundance of cars as the source for an exodus of people from the city.
