I have frequently remarked that everything Mark Steyn has been saying about Muslim demographics in Europe applies with equal force, mutatis mutandis, to Mexican demographics in America. Steyn has recently started saying this himself.

Now he’s in trouble. His latest book, After America, available August 8, will cover this, and he discusses it on a podcast on his own site today. [MP3] I don’t know if his discussion of reconquista and sovereignty in the Southwest–the podcast is headed “Borderlands and Shadowlands”“–will cost him his column on the back page of National Review, but it might. It’s happened before.
