Our Kwanzaa celebrations are one of my favorite childhood memories. The whole family would gather around across multiple generations and we’d tell stories and light the candles.

Whether you’re celebrating this year with those you live with or over Zoom, happy Kwanzaa! pic.twitter.com/21bzGHZpYe
Unlike the Vice President, I didn’t celebrate Kwanzaa as a young Baby Boomer. Instead, I celebrated the Feast of the Spoiled Only Child Who Gets More Toys Than All His Friends Who Have Lots of Brothers and Sisters.

You never hear about Only Children anymore, now that there are so many of them. But when I was young, they were like Karens today: everybody’s favorite identity category to put down.
But, still, it all paid off on 12/25.
