Many of you will recall the case of Darin Wedel, whose wife challenged Pres. Obama in the latter's online townhall meeting. Mr. Wedel, a semiconductor engineer, has been out of work for several years, in spite of living in a semiconductor center, Dallas. Notably, Texas Instruments is there, and it has been a major advocate of the H-1B program in Congress. Mrs. Wedel asked the President why he supports H-1B when U.S. engineers are unemployed.
