Charlotte Needs New Mayor: "Before Voting For A Black Politician..."

I'm delighted, and not the teeniest bit surprised, to see that Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon is having his collar felt by the feds for "accepted money and things of value from undercover agents who were posing as commercial real estate developers and investors wishing to do business in Charlotte." [Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon arrested on federal corruption charges, by Jen Wilson; Charlotte Business Journal, March 26 2014.]

As James Fulford reminds us, this is the same Patrick Cannon who, as Mayor pro tem, was instrumental in getting the 2011 American Renaissance conference canceled.  I wrote it up at the time in my monthly National Review Online diary here, but NRO excised my comments.

And the Gods of the Copybook Headings (that's us) limp up to explain it once more:

(10f) Do not settle in a district or municipality run by black politicians.

(10g) Before voting for a black politician, scrutinize his/her character much more carefully than you would a white.
