A fairly typical "not reporting race" headline. The story does actually say "originally from Guatemala," which is something. "Originally from" is another way of not saying the word "immigrant" in connection with the commission of a crime. It's regularly used, of course, for victims of crime.

RAMAPO — Two cousins from Spring Valley were identified Monday by Ramapo police as the men who robbed three people at gunpoint during a weekend carjacking in Airmont.

Jose Ochoa-Garcia, 27, and Daniel Yupe-Garcia, 29, were arrested hours after the Saturday night carjacking on Route 59, police said, and were charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felonies. The cousins, originally from Guatemala, were being held Monday pending arraignment, police said.

Three victims were lured about 11 p.m. to 418 Route 59, where they were held up, police said. Two men stole cash from one of the victims and then drove off with a silver 2007 Honda Odyssey, later found in the parking lot of the Palisades Center mall in West Nyack.
