Re: James Fulford's blog post  Mia Farrow:"In Our Hearts We Know That If Trayvon Had Been A Blond Boy..."

From: Robin Corkery [Email him]

I met Mia Farrow many years ago at a film festival which caused us to have intermittent conversations over the course of three days, She appeared to have little formal education, and a tendency to repeat opinions of the sort that were then fashionable with the Sinatra crowd.  Think Lady Gaga or Scarlett Johansson.

See previous letters from Robin Corkery.

James Fulford writes: Movie stars are frequently uneducated, because they start work young, although not necessarily stupid. Mia Farrow attended a convent school, when she wasn’t travelling with her parents to movie sets, and started working full time at 19.

Scarlett Johansson, who has been acting since she was ten, attended the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, and then didn’t go to college.(Lady Gaga, of course, is a creature from another planet. However, she did study briefly at NYU.)

In 2003, the terrific Laura Ingraham (BA, Dartmouth, JD, UVA Law) wrote a book about political activism among the entertainment community. She called it Shut Up and Sing.
