Re: Steve Sailer's blog items More Great Moments in Google Gaslight: American Scientists and Google vs. Bing On "Black White Crime Stats"

From: A Talk Radio Listener [Email him]

I just looked at Peter Brimelow's Twitter and saw the ongoing discussion about Google. I've noticed for several months that searches having absolutely nothing to do with politics now sometimes leave out key websites that I know to exist. If I modify the search to add additional specificity, especially phrases in quotes, the missing websites appear in the search results. The days of typing in one or two odd words and finding all the websites that contain them are over for everybody in every subject area. I suspect this has been done to steer business to websites that are somehow profitable to Google by making it appear that the options are fewer and worse than there really are.

This has changed the way I use Google. I don't give up after a search for an odd word turns up 25 useless results. I add other words likely to occur in the site and keep changing them. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
