09/30/08 - An Israeli Reader Asks What VDARE.COM Expects Regarding Immigration

From: Joseph Austin (e-mail him)

Unlike California Chicanos, most of whom are here illegally, New Mexican Hispanics, whose families have lived here for 500 years, almost universally dislike and resent illegal aliens from Mexico.

They know that illegal immigration negatively impacts their wages, due to the labor law  of supply and demand.

Having learned their lesson from Cesar Chavez, they don't want any more mojados stealing their jobs.

Joe Guzzardi comments: The New Mexicans Austin writes about are American citizens, some of them fifth and sixth generation. They'd rather keep their jobs than buy into ethnic identity politics that hurts them economically.
