As a man who has over the years worked to elect men like Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and Pat Buchanan I am dismayed that anti-environmentalism has become a core principle of the American right wing. The Republican Party helmsmen would gladly trash the Earth in the name of anti-regulation.
I will remain a member of Republicans for Environmental Protection, as well as Polar Bears International. When it comes to voting for any of the current crop of know-nothing candidates...I just don't know that I can bring myself to do it.
Edward Abbey was right: "A true conservative must necessarily be a conservationist."
