VDARE.com always pauses its year-end Appeal over Christmas, although it always costs us momentum.

But today, December 26—Boxing Day in the British part of the English-speaking world—is the Feast of Saint Stephen, mentioned in the first verse of one of the most beloved of all Christmas carols:

Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the Feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel
When a poor man came in sight
Gathering winter fuel

And the frost IS cruel for VDARE.com this year, not simply because charitable giving appears to be slow across the board regardless of politics, but because 2022 has been a year of unprecedented deplatforming, demonetizing and lawfare assault on us, imposing hideous costs in terms of money and staff time.

We’ll tell you more about this shortly. Meanwhile, we appeal to you for winter fuel.

Right now, we need $120,000 to reach our goal of $200,000.

This is not quite as strong as usual. But our experience with our loyal readers is that they still might make it achievable, if by a Wenceslas-type miracle.

Remember, your winter fuel is tax-deductible if given or postmarked by December 31.
