In September 2018, a fishing boat captain of a 7-man-crew broadcast this mayday call when  fellow crew member Franklin Freddy Meave Vazquez, a Mexican national and illegal alien in the United States, suddenly began attacking his crew mates with a knife and hammer, killing one and injuring two.

Yes, an illegal alien. But you wouldn’t know it from the headlines…

From the Department of Justice: “Virginia Man Pleads Guilty to Murder Aboard Commercial Scalloping Boat”

And the Associated Press: “Fishing crew member pleads guilty to murder in attack at sea”

As James Fulford notes on VDARE.com, the AP article doesn’t mention the killer’s illegal status until the eleventh paragraph.

Earlier this year, Vazquez pled guilty to second-degree-murder and other related charges, and was recently sentenced to just 20 years, with no indication that he’ll be deported.

A new press release from the DOJ once again refers to Vazquez as a “Virginia man”, and then explained that the murder was “workplace violence.”

However, the entire incident could have been prevented. In March of 2018, Vazquez was arrested on an abduction charge. Unfortunately, a criminally negligent immigration judge granted Vazquez bond. The illegal alien was released, and free to commit the assault on his crew members just months later.

Bonus fact: Vazquez received permission to stay in the country under Barack Hussein Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals scam, but eventually lost it
