Crowing over the Senate's vote of approval for Judge Kavanaugh yesterday, GOP Senate leader Mitch McConnell extruded the following in an interview with USA Today:

The ironies of ironies, this has actually produced an incredible surge of interest among these Republican voters going into the fall election … We've all been perplexed about how to get our people as interested as we know the other side is, well this has done it.

So GOP congresscritters have been sitting around "perplexed" for two years, struggling mightily to think of some issue that could fire up the interest of their voters?  And nothing came to mind?  Nope, couldn't think of a darn thing.
