Breaking now...

A federal law enforcement official tells CBS News that the suspect behind the deadly Charleston, South Carolina, church shooting has been caught.

CBS News reports that 21-year-old Dylann Storm Roof was apprehended in Shelby, North Carolina, nearly three hours away from Emanuel AME Church.

Roof is accused of killing nine people, including the pastor, at the historically black church. Authorities called it a hate crime.

Calls for prayers, sympathy, and compassion for the victims are what is needed. At the same time, just as everything else, this crime (just as every other crime these days) will be used as part of a larger political agenda. We can expect to see a move against the Second Amendment as well as political speech. And as Roof has been captured alive, this will dominate the headlines for months to come.
