China, though it is remarkably open to "Overseas Chinese" is apparently intolerant of its citizens who naturalize elsewhere:

China does not recognize dual or multiple citizenship. Chinese law stipulates that once a Chinese takes foreign citizenship, he or she loses Chinese nationality. It is unknown what nationality Zhang is.

Why don't we do the same thing when naturalized Americans don't actually surrender their former alliegances or minority Americans go abroad in search of their forebears' nationality?
