While on detail once, I talked with an Agent stationed in Houlton, Maine. He was getting ready to retire and he said the Houlton Station was up to around 20 agents now. “We arrested more illegal aliens when we had six agents than we did when we had 20.” Back when he first got transferred to the northern border, they still did farm and ranch check.
In late summer, BP Agents from all across Maine were detailed to go check the blueberry farms for illegal aliens picking the blueberry crop. They made a lot of arrests of Mexicans who had crossed the southern border doing the crop harvest.
Later, they would go over to the west side of Maine where it’s heavily forested and look at the logging camps for Canadians (Québecois) who had come across to work as loggers.
Thanks to doing what would now be considered interior enforcement, they made more arrests than the new forwardly deployed policy, where agents were assigned to look at the Canadian pine trees and snowbanks while ignoring aliens coming up from the south.
Policy is everything. A senior Patrol Agent once made the case that the 1986 IRCA act did more harm to enforcement because Chuck Schumer made sure to put in that employers could only be punished for hiring illegal aliens if they “knowingly” hired illegal aliens.
Well, this just started a massive amount of fraudulent documents and aliens getting driver’s licenses from anti-immigration enforcement states. That way, the employer could say, “Gee, officer, I thought he was legal! He gave me a North Carolina driver’s license.” (Or a California or Oregon, etc…)

He’s pretty condescending towards her with his fake pity and telling her that she didn’t have the background that her social better, Dan Goldman, does in order to understand what’s going on. Goldman goes on to say that the Biden administration has caught more fentanyl than previous administrations. Yes, he’s right, but it’s because more of it is crossing than ever before!
They continue to lie. When caught, they throw out another lie.
