From The Atlantic:

Will the U.S. Extradite Fethullah Gulen?

Turkey has formally requested the transfer of the Pennsylvania-based cleric accused of masterminding last month’s coup, the State Department says.

Don’t hand the Imam of the Poconos over to Erdogan’s sense of fair play, indict him here in the U.S. on Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization (RICO) charges of using immigration fraud to skim hundreds of millions of American taxpayer dollars off the 160+ charter schools his organization appears to run in our country. Put him on trial in America for his crimes against Americans.

Here’s a blog post by Jersey Jazzman pulling together much of what so far is public knowledge about Gulen’s charter school operations. Back in 2014 I wrote about “The economics of the Gulen cult’s American charter schools.” Keep in mind that H-1B fraud is central: the Gulenites attest that they just can’t find Americans to teach American kids in America in English, so they have to import Turkish-speaking men from Turkey to move here to teach them. Then they force these Turks to kick back a big chunk of their American taxpayer-paid salaries to the Gulen Cult.

RICO is perfect for this. A quarter of a century ago, RICO was aggressively used by prosecutors like Rudy Giuliani to go after big boys on Wall Street. In the Obama Era, though, you don’t seem to hear much about RICO anymore.
