I echo James Kirkpatrick's good wishes to the magazine Chronicles in its upcoming editorial changes, and extend my personal thanks to retiring editor Dr. Thomas Fleming for past kindnesses and support.

The new editor, Chilton Williamson, Jr., was in charge of the books pages at National Review when I started with them as a book reviewer in the late 1990s.  Chilton and I have just recently renewed the acquaintance, on the same terms:  I have a book review in the forthcoming issue of Chronicles.  So the wheel turns.

(The book I'm reviewing is about falconry.  No, really.)
