The Volokh Conspiracy recently found itself blocked by one of those censorware programs that some IT departments put on computers to make life difficult. We've had a problem with that before, because some of the filter companies decided we were "hateful," and blocked us that ground. They always back off when they receive a lawyers letter, but of course we don't know who to send a letter to until we find out about the blocking. So if your computer refuses to connect to VDARE.com, LET US KNOW, with the name of the blocking software and the reason for blocking.

In the meantime, one of the commenters on the Volokh Conspiracy, (which may have been blocked just because it's called a Conspiracy) points to Boing Boing's Guide to Defeating Censorware, which you may find helpful where it's appropriate. That is, if you're a serviceman, don't court an Article 15 by accessing a site blocked by your Army computer, but if you're using internet service in a hotel, which you are paying good money for, they have no business preventing you from looking at VDARE.com.
