The ludicrous Bundy brouhaha continues, with as far as I can see Conservatism Inc. still in total disarray. Inevitably, Leftists are now twisting the knife, e.g. asking Why are conservatives condemning Cliven Bundy? (by Adam Serwer, MSNBC, April 25, 2014), essentially the question I asked last night (What Exactly Did Cliven Bundy Say That A) Was Wrong; B) Paul Ryan Didn’t Already Say?) but of course intending to discredit conservativsim in general. This is why I said last night that

unless the extraordinary power of this “racism” smear is faced and discredited, American immigration patriots [or any kind of American patriot for that matter] cannot begin to reclaim their country.

I also said:

I expect to find that Cliven Bundy is a National Review subscriber. He probably employs illegal alien ranch hands.

National Review is still cowering, needless to say, but right on cue it materializes that Bundy IS soft on illegal aliens. In the unedited version of his press conference, he said:

Now, let me talk about the Spanish people. You know, I understand that they come over here against our Constitution and cross our borders. But they’re here and they’re people; and I’ve worked side-by-side a lot of them. Don’t tell me they don’t work, and don’t tell me they don’t pay taxes. And don’t tell me they don’t have better family structure than most of us white people. When you see those Mexican families, they’re together, they picnic together, they’re spending their time together, and I’ll tell you in my way of thinking they’re awful nice people. And we need to have those people join us and be with us… not, not come to our party.

Prior to slavery comments, Bundy said minority groups are ‘against us’, By Aaron Blake and Natalie Jennings, Washington Post, April 24, 2014. Emphasis added.

At VDARE.com, we think this is typical Big Ag self-interested hogwash, but it's the sort of hogwash that the MSM usually loves. That the NYT's Adam Nagourney deliberately suppressed it (and also that WaPo's headline distorted Budy's big-tent aspirations) is just yet more evidence of the MSM's flagrant Treason Lobby agenda.
