I’m Virginia Dare and you’re listening to VDARE Radio.

Lauren Southern is one of the more interesting figures to have emerged in recent years. Since becoming an independent commentator, supported only by donors, she has become increasingly bold in discussing important issues.

In one of her latest videos, she forthrightly discusses “The Great Replacement,” the wholesale dispossession of Europeans from their native countries and their replacement by foreign peoples.

As Southern lays out, it is simply an objective reality that Europeans in most Western nations will be a minority in their own countries, possibly within this century. This is arguably the most important occurrence in all of Western history. And yet it is taking place with no debate and with no decision made by the European peoples to abolish themselves in this way.

President Trump did not directly talk about this during his speech in Warsaw, but he did speak of how the fundamental question of our time is whether we have the “will” to defend Western Civilization. This triggered a number of hysterical journalists. Sarah Wildman at Vox declared it was an “Alt Right manifesto” because it used the “dire, last-chance wording often used by the far right on both sides of the Atlantic.” This included saying:

“Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost? Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy it?”

[Trump’s speech in Poland sounded like an alt-right manifesto, July 6, 2017]

Maybe it was the part about “subversion” that triggered the journalists. In any event, it’s hard to imagine many other Europeans throughout history would have found this even controversial, let alone “far right.”

Even the suggestion that we should have the will to defend our patrimony is evidently regarded as illegitimate by much of the media. For example, Zack Beauchamp declared Trump’s comments “astonishing” because “this is what the alt-right has been saying for years.” And though Trump has stuck to a civic nationalist line, has never appealed to European-Americans as such, and is quite willing to champion his minority supporters and appeal to them as minorities, Beauchamp still claimed: “The real threat to the West in Trump’s eyes, as far as I can tell in this speech, is non-white immigration.”

Trump never said anything of the kind, nor even hinted it. But let’s take Beauchamp’s point at face value. He seems to be suggesting that it doesn’t matter what people are actually in a country, only what “values” prevail. And in this, he’s actually in total agreement with Conservatism Inc. and the Beltway Right. Everyone seems to believe in the “magic dirt” theory, that there are these abstract floating “values” which can descend on everyone who enters the West, and the only thing we have to debate is what those values are. Even President Trump seemed to suggest something similar in his speech on Wednesday. “Our values will prevail,” he said.

But this is nonsense. It ignores a point so fundamental that it actually seems silly to have to recite it here. A nation is a people. Fundamentally, a country is the people who make it up. If you replace one people with an entirely different people, especially within almost one generation as is happening in Europe, it’s not simply immigration. It’s something akin to cultural genocide. If the Europeans become minorities in their own countries, then they have been conquered. And as Lauren Southern noted, it’s astonishing that we don’t even seem to be talking about this, especially when a historic change of this magnitude is happening on this scale and at this speed.

No one even seems to be able to debate this. Instead, we are told we just aren’t allowed to mention it. We are also told that Europeans, alone among the peoples of the world, are immoral to even think about resisting it, even though every other people on the planet would act in defense of their own existence because it is a self-evident good. The intent of these journalists is nothing short of murderous when it comes to the fate of Western Civilization.

President Trump, again, did not talk about this directly. But as Lauren Southern’s recent video shows, more and more people, especially among the younger generation, are becoming aware of this issue. And President Trump is fundamentally right when he said whether or not the West survives depends on our own will. For the sake of our children, let’s hope our generation has the will to do what must be done to save our history, heritage, and civilization.

I’m Virginia Dare and we’ll talk again soon.
