From the Daily Mail:

Schoolteachers at an Oregon elementary school claim that eye-rolling directed at the principal is a form of aggression ‘rooted in white supremacy.’

BIPOC teachers at Errol Hassell Elementary school sent an email to school administrators on May 27 after hearing that their principal, Cynthia Lam Moffett, may be removed from her position, Fox News reports. …

“We believe that much of the resistance to Principal Moffett’s work… is a result of bias and targeted aggression. As BIPOC educators we have observed, experienced, and witnessed similar micro and macro aggressions,’ the teachers said in the email.

… Included in the list of micro and macro aggressions provided was an example of staff members rolling their eyes ‘during meetings while Principal Moffett was speaking.’

The teachers also claimed ‘staff raised their voice and interrupted Principal Moffett during… meetings, and spoke in a disrespectful and aggressive manner.’

… The letter was signed ‘the BIPOC Educators at Errol Hassell Elementary School’ and listed the educators names.

Much of the matter of Woke meltdowns seems like normal petty office politics—some teachers at an Oregon elementary school support the principal, while some think the principal is inadequate—but conveniently elevated in the minds of the office politics warriors to matters of cosmic principal and national importance by identity questions.

Everybody goes through life having disputes with other people within organizations, which the individuals involved often find utterly fascinating, but generally not outsiders. Wokeness empowers some people, by virtue of their demographics, to feel entitled to demand that attention must be paid to their office politics complaints, which would otherwise bore the rest of the world.

Hence, much of its popularity.
