John & Ken Story Gets Better And Better [Bryanna Bevens] - 09/29/04

For my friends at The John & Ken Show (KFI AM640 Los Angeles), this might soften the blow:

Euripides said: "Chance fights ever on the side of the prudent."

Last Friday, 9/24/2004, during their Political Human Sacrifice segment, John and Ken were announcing that yet another hospital had suffocated under costs caused by illegal aliens.

Hospitals are legally obligated to provide medical services without regard to the patient's immigration status or ability to pay.

Needless to say, John & Ken were outraged and demanded accountability.

While their show was airing, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was in Washington marching with the Freedom Riders for the Week of Action for "immigration reform." (Their definition of reform is slightly different than ours at VDARE.COM. By slightly different, I mean directly opposite.)

The AFL-CIO description of the group:

"The Freedom Riders, who include documented and undocumented immigrants and union and community allies, will stop in dozens of communities across the country to spotlight the need for immigration reform."

As chance would have it, while Robert F. Kennedy Jr. marched arm-in-arm with illegal aliens to promote "immigration reform," 3,000 miles away he had an even more personal connection to his beloved cause. Apparently, he just didn't know it.

The hospital that closed was the Robert F. Kennedy Medical Center.

Way to go, Junior!  Good looking out for the team!

Way to go, John and Ken! Good (and prudent) looking out for America!

The Unguarded Border Factor [Bryanna Bevens] - 09/29/04

Last Monday, Fox News's Bill O'Reilly sat down with President Bush to talk about, among other things, the immigration problem. Here are some excerpts.

O'Reilly mentioned the recent article in Time Magazine:

Bill O'Reilly: Every year, 3.5 million illegals come over. Why can't the federal government control that?

President Bush: There is a long border, that makes it hard to control.

O'Reilly: With all due respect, though, it's not working, with 3 million...

President Bush: It's working a little better. They're doing a pretty good job down in Arizona, which is the main border crossing.

Arizona is home to 283,000 illegal aliens.

In the four years prior to 2000—date of the last estimate available—the number of illegal aliens doubled.

The cost to Arizona taxpayers: an estimated $1.3 billion per year.

"They're doing a pretty good job down in Arizona"? Bush must have meant the illegal aliens—not the DHS.

Those with strong stomachs can view the entire transcript here.
