Earlier, by Patrick J. Buchanan: Who Really Imperils The Republic?

FBI Director Christopher Wray appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday to talk about the January 6th events at the U.S. Capitol. He told the noble senators that, quote:

The problem of domestic terrorism has been metastasizing across the country for a long time now, and it's not going away anytime soon.

Uh-huh. "Domestic terrorism," eh? Ctrl-F "antifa." Whoa, three hits. Surprised.

  • First hit:  Wray speaking, quote: "FBI found no evidence that the attack on the Capitol was staged by left-wing extremists such as antifa to try to frame Trump supporters."

  • Second hit:  Wray speaking again, quote: "We have not to date seen any evidence of anarchist violent extremists or people subscribing to antifa in connection with the sixth."

  • Third hit: Senator Richard Durbin speaking, after telling us that he unequivocally condemns left-wing violence, quote: "Let's stop pretending that the threat of antifa is equivalent to the white supremacist threat."

Now I'm going to break your heart, make you weep. You ready? Got your hanky out? Here goes: Christopher Wray was appointed FBI Director by President Donald Trump.
