Muslims from Iraq do not enrich us. A "Texas girl", age 16, ran away in January and turned up safe in March. Her name is Maarib Al Hishmawi. She ran away because she refused an arranged marriage according to most news accounts, but the chosen groom paid her parents $20,000 for Maarib's hand in marriage. That sounds like a business deal.[ Parents beat teen daughter with broomsticks and poured cooking oil on her for refusing forced marriage, says Texas sheriff  Maarib Al Hishmawi is now in protective custody along with five siblings, By   Jon Sharman, Independent (UK), March 26, 2018]

Maarib's parents beat her, choked her and threw hot oil on her when she refused the marriage. She is now in protective custody along with her five siblings. Her father is 34 years old and her mother is 33 years old. Obviously, they were children themselves when they married. These are not American values.

Two headlines:

According to one news source, the family came from Iraq two years ago, probably as refugees. Who vetted this family? Were they foisted upon the state of Texas by the Federal Government? Were they foisted upon the US by the United Nations? Did our country just let them in because Iraq is a bad place?

Billions of people live in bad places. Many do not share our values. Their values do not enrich us. We cannot save them by moving them here.
